Experience

GPCo has contributed to, and participated in, various phases of development in support of over 10,000 MW of wind projects with over 200 wind measurement campaigns completed or currently underway in North America and abroad.

More specific and noteworthy experience in wind energy consulting includes the following:
  • Conducted the wind assessment campaign including meteorological (met) tower installation and data colelction and analyses for over 500 MW of projects built or under construction ( Le Nordais wind farm in Gaspésie, Norway and West Cape projects in the Maritimes in Eastern Canada, Jardins d'éole in Gaspesie, Éoliennes Mont Louis) These analyses resulted in the construction of over 400 turbines.
  • Conducted site prospecting, installed met masts and conducted wind resource assessments at numerous sites in the context of Hydro-Quebec’s May 2003 Request for Proposals for 1,000 MW of wind energy and in the Summer of 2007 for Hydro-Quebec's 2nd RFP for 2,000MW.
  • Performed an evaluation study of wind energy potential in Quebec for the Société québécoise d’initiative pétrolière (SOQUIP).
  • Over 5 000 MW in micrositing and energy yield optimization performed since 1994.
Experience in other Renewables:
  • Co-developer of the RETScreen ® International renewable energy project analysis software that has been accessed by over 121,000 users in more than 219 countries
  • Provision of technical support for RETScreen ® users worldwide and has delivered RETScreen ® and renewable energy training workshops to over 1000 professionals
